About Me
Thank you for visiting my music website, my name is Faye (you can call me Miss Fang), and I am a music instructor.
I started my musical life when I was five years old with main practice on piano. In 1998, I got accepted by The High School Affiliated to Xing Hai Conservatory of Music, China by being one of the top ten selected students among thousands of candidates in China and I began taking Guzheng(Chinese zither) lessons as my second major besides Piano, then further education in Xing Hai Conservatory of Music after three years. In 2005 I graduated with honor awarded in 1st place of the scholarship from Xinghai Conservatory of Music with Bachelor's degree of Art double majoring in Piano and Guzheng. During the school years, I have been tutoring and performing in different events.
After coming to the USA, I continued my music career. I have been an active member of Music Teachers Association of California since 2009.
My students are ranging from beginner to advanced level. I have been instructing in different music schools in San Francisco, Oakland, Fremont. Every year, I send many students to take the exams of "Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music" and perform in different recitals and competitions.
With strong background in both piano and Chinese zither - a traditional style of Chinese folk music, I would like to help you improve your music knowledge and skills, and I believe music learning should be fun. Feel free to contact me for more information on the lectures.

I teach piano and guzheng lessons
Piano
Lessons
I offer 30 minutes/45 minutes one-on-one piano lessons to students(depends on students’ age and levels). Students from my lessons will receive individual instruction about technical skill, music theory and appreciation of music. All lessons are available for all ages and levels.
Examination
I send students to take the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music(ABRSM) graded exam and Certificate of Merit(CM) by Music Teachers’ Association of California.
Recital & Performance
I hold recital every year for my students. Through recitals, students build up their confidence when performing in public. It is a good opportunity to let students present their skills, to show their parents what they have learned. Also, it is a good way to learn from each other and communicate with each other.
I also bring students to different kind of performances, such as senior house Christmas party, company/association annual party.
GuZheng
Lessons
I offer 30 minutes/45 minutes one-on-one Guzheng lessons to students(depends on students’ age and levels). Students from my lessons will receive individual instruction about technical skill, music theory, background of chinese music and apprication of music. All lessons are available for all ages and levels.

It is a good oppertunity to let students present their skills, to show their parents what they have learned. Also, it is a good way to learn from each other and communicate with each other.
